Our Children Can't Wait

Our History of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Our Equity and Inclusion work is not new or motivated by recent events but rather an ongoing effort by many great leaders who have been bringing awareness. These efforts began right after the implementation of the Desegregation Laws in Indiana (1978) and have been our focus from that day in an ongoing effort that takes many shapes and covers many areas: grant management, curriculum implementation, and teaching practices.

Although we have made considerable gains,  there is still a lot of work to do in the area of Equity and Inclusion when considering the high mobility of our student body and the rotation of our staff.

Interview with Mr. Tom LangdocMr. Tom Langdoc, retired Director of School and Community Services, describes the desegregation transition period at the M.S.D. Wayne Township and various efforts to create an equitable environment.
